Charter by Sir William Wallace, Guardian of Scotland, to Alexander Scrymgeour, Constable of Dundee, 1298.
One of the few known writings of William Wallace is represented from this facsimile published by the Ordnance Survey. The charter had been seen and engraved by James Anderson in 1705, but could not be traced in the National Archives by Cosmo Innes, the great Scottish historian, in 1865, and so this engraving of 1705 is the only copy that is known to survive of this charter.
