Housing Benefit
Council Tenants
- If you live in a Dundee City Council property your Housing Benefit will be paid weekly, direct to your Rent Account.
Private tenants
If you are a Housing Association tenant, if your landlord is a registered charity or if your tenancy started prior to 2 January 1989:-
- We will pay your Housing Benefit directly by automatic credit to your bank account (BACS) or by cheque, every four weeks. Or we can pay your Housing Benefit direct to your landlord.
If you are paid under the Local Housing Allowance scheme:-
- We will pay your Housing Benefit directly by automatic credit to your bank account (BACS), every four weeks. We can only pay your Housing Benefit direct to your landlord if you are classed as vulnerable or cannot manage your own finances (e.g. have more than 8 weeks rent arrears)

Council Tax Benefit
We will pay your Council Tax Benefit straight to your Council Tax account. You will receive a bill showing any amount you have to pay after benefit has been awarded.
