Welcome to Dundee Integrated Children's Services
Welcome to Integrated Children's Services in Dundee. This website will keep you up to date on the work of Children's Services in the City.
The aims of Integrated Children's Services are highlighted in Dundee's Integrated Children's Services Plan , and those are "that every child and young person in Dundee is Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included."
Our Vision is that "In Dundee we will develop and deliver services that will work together more closely; will plan together, will develop strategies and funding together, and will work in a way that appears seamless to children, young people, families and communities".
Dundee's 'integrated approach' is about 'Getting it Right for Every Child' in the city and by that we mean children will;
Have the best start in life, be ready to learn, supported to achieve and ambitious throughout and beyond their school lives
Live in a safe and secure, stable and nurturing environment at home and in the community, where their rights are respected, they are free from neglect and supported to be resilient and to thrive
Feel confident and be responsible, able to participate fully in learning and in their wider community and take part in opportunities that meet their needs, interests and aspirations
Enjoy good physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing
We strive to achieve the above through building successful 'local partnerships' across Dundee City Council Departments, NHS Tayside, Police Scotland, Voluntary Organisations and the private sector.
The partnerships help tackle many of the priority issues in Dundee today, such as, development early years and early intervention strategies and services, improving the health of children, delivering youth justice, tackling anti-social behavior, protecting and keep children safe and enhancing education opportunities for children and young people.
