Andy Kennedy has been City Centre Initiative Manager in Stirling since 1998 and was involved in Stirling’s successful application for City status, awarded in 2002. The main focus of Andy’s current work is to co-ordinate and deliver projects focused on city centre safety, business support/development and city centre strategy development. Prior to his current role, he had gained sixteen years retail store management experience throughout Scotland working for major national retail names. Prior to retail, he also managed a night club, was involved in direct sales to the agricultural industry, and initially trained to be an accountant. Andy is immediate past Chair of The Association of Town Centre Management (Scotland) and currently sits on the ATCM (UK) advisory council, vice-convener of the Cross Party Group at Holyrood focused on Town Centre Development since 2008 to present, and has also been a local advisor within the Young Enterprise Scotland network. He was a member of Scottish Centre for Regeneration high streets learning network external advisory group 2009-11. He is a past President of Carse of Stirling Rotary club and has a BA (Hons) Degree in Business and Finance. He is no stranger to Dundee having been involved in the judging of the Dundee Retail awards since their inception.
