Dundee City Council and Fairtrade

Dundee City Council has a Fairtrade Policy (24KB MS Word doc) and works with the local Fair Trade Forum and the Fair Trade Foundation.

The Fair Trade mark is awarded to products sourced from the developing world that meet internationally recognised standards of fair trade. These ensure that producers get a fair price for their products to support their families and invest in their businesses and community improvements.

Dundee City Council aims to increase the use of fairly traded products and raise awareness of fair trade. Its policy commitments include:

  • to solely serve fair trade tea and coffee at Council meetings and when offering Council hospitality
  • to increase the number of fair trade schools
  • to publicise Dundee's status as a fair trade city

For more details, see the link to our Fairtrade Policy above.

The Dundee Fair Trade Forum keeps a list of local Fair Trade suppliers, so please contact the Forum directly through the link above if you would like further information or to be added to their list.
