Blue Bin Paper Collections
Dundee City Council offers approximately 57,000 households a separate kerbside collection for waste paper and cardboard, collections are carried out on a four weekly cycle.

What goes in the blue bin?

Please note that cardboard, envelopes and food & drink cartons (tetra paks) can now be collected in your blue bin for recycling.
The blue bins are collected and emptied at the kerbside into a compaction vehicle. The contents are then taken to a storage facility at Marchbanks, before being transported to a paper mill for processing. The paper and cardboard is pulped and de-inked prior to being manufactured into a variety of new paper products including:
- Newsprint
- Plasterboard liners
- Printing paper
- Packaging materials
