Kerbside Recycling Box Scheme
Around 16,000 properties in Dundee are offered a 55 litre green box to help them recycle more of their household waste. The service has remained very popular since its introduction in 2005 and we are now pleased to say that a wider range of metals and plastics can now be recycled in your green box along with glass as before; please see below for details.
The following table gives examples of what you can and can not put in your green box at collection time.

We ask that you present your green box on the kerbside by 7.30am on your collection day to ensure it is emptied.
The contents of your green box are loaded into a refuse collection vehicle and then taken to Baldovie Transfer station for short term storage. They are then taken to a Materials Recovery Facility within Scotland where they are separated into different material types using a combination of electrical and electronic techniques plus manual quality control. This process ensures that all material types - even down to the different colours of glass - are recovered and are of a high enough quality for recycling.
If you have queries regarding the scheme please call 01382 432777.
