Special Collections Service
The council provides Householders with a Special Collection Service to allow you to have larger items uplifted.
You can request a special uplift for up to 6 bulky items from outside your property at ground floor level for a charge of £12. Alternatively you can take the items to your local Recycling Centre free of charge.

- Washing Machines
- Fridges
- Carpets
What Don't We Uplift?
- Asbestos
- Car Batteries
- Gas Canisters
- Paint Tins
- Chemicals
- Tyres
Do We Uplift any Other Items?
Items such as building renovations, house clearances, garden sheds, fences, tree cuttings, kitchen renovations, bathroom suites etc. require to be assessed by an Inspector and a price agreed before the uplift will take place.
How Do I Arrange a Collection?
Contact Special Collections on 01382 436238 between 9 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday to pay for this service by credit or debit card. Payment can also be made by Cash or Cheque at Environment Department Offices, East or West District Housing Offices and Community Libraries across the city.
