Second Adult Rebate - Am I entitled?

You may be entitled to claim Second Adult Rebate if you share your home with one or more other persons.

You may be able to claim a Second Adult Rebate if you are sharing your home with someone over 18 years of age who:-

  • is not paying you rent;
  • is not your partner;
  • does not have to pay Council Tax; and
  • is on a low income;

You may be able to claim a Second Adult Rebate for that person. We do not take your own income and savings into account.

When a dwelling is occupied by a student or students and one or more people in receipt of Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance (IB), Employment and Support Allowance (IR) or Pension Credit, the Second Adult Rebate will be 100%.
