What is the Lockit Buik?

There are now two. The first one, with wooden boards and two locks, dating back to the 16th century, contains the names of the burgesses (merchants and guild members) and honorary freemen of Dundee. The second one starts with the grant of the Freedom of the City to Nelson Mandela while he was still in prison.
