Benefit Fraud Awareness
Fraud Units are charged with detecting, deterring and preventing benefit fraud. In order to achieve this the Council is taking action against all fraudsters by prosecuting, levying penalties and issuing cautions, as well as pursuing recovery of benefit overpayments.
Dundee City Council is committed to tackling benefit fraud and the message is clear:
- If you are defrauding you are going to be caught and prosecuted
- If you know someone who is fraudulently claiming benefits – report it online
