Council Housing Repair Priorities
To report a housing repair please contact the Housing Repairs Centre, Tel: 01382 434343.
The Housing Department provides a comprehensive repairs service. To report a repair you should contact our Housing Repairs Centre on 434343. You can also report repairs at your Housing Office or online. When you report a repair please give us as much detail as possible. We will give you a job number and will tell you the timescale for the job to be attended to.
We carry out more than 70,000 jobs a year, nearly 1,400 a week. We group the work into categories so that we can plan our work efficiently and get the best value for money. Each category has a priority and a timescale for completion of the work. Below is a list of the most common repairs we undertake in the repairs service. This will give you an idea of how long a particular repair is likely to take.
Access Arrangements
When you report a repair we discuss with you a suitable time for the tradesman to call.
Emergencies are undertaken within 24 hours and we will try to accommodate an AM or PM call for other repairs.
Quick Fix repairs take up to five days.
Routine and Non-Routine repairs take up to 15 days.
If we are not able to attend on the date agreed with you for a gas safety check, we will try to contact you in advance to re-arrange the appointment.
