Housing Options in Dundee - Are you vulnerable and in priority need?
You are considered to be in priority need if:
- You are pregnant or member of your household is pregnant
- You have dependant children that live with you (including your own children, adopted children, fostered children and grandchildren)
- You are homeless as a result of an emergency such as fire, flood or any other disaster
- You have suffered domestic violence or abuse by a partner
- You have suffered racial harassment or violence
- You are at risk of violence or harassment because of religion, sexual orientation, race, colour, ethnic or national origin
- You are 16 or 17 years old
- You are under 21 and were previously in care at or after school leaving age and/or are at risk of sexual/financial exploitation/involvement in alcohol and/or drug misuse
- You are vulnerable as a result of old age, mental illness, personality disorder, learning difficulties, physical disability, chronic health issues, have suffered a miscarriage or undergone an abortion
- You have recently been discherged from hospital, a prison, or from the regular armed forces
- Other special reasons
The above are only examples and there may be other reasons we can consider that make you vulnerable and in priority need. Our Homeless Officer will be able to provide advice when carrying out the initial homeless interview.
