Adult Learning - Discover Learning
The Leisure and Communities Department has Adult Learning teams working across the city aiming to encourage everyone living in Dundee to become involved in lifelong learning. Our ambition is to create Adult Learning opportunities which are available to all and to create a culture of lifelong learning in communities.
The main aims of the teams are:
- to increase adults' confidence skills, knowledge and motivation so that people can take advantage of lifelong learning opportunities;
- to have a positive impact on personal, family, community and working life.
There is something available for everyone whether you are:
- returning to learning for the first time since leaving school
- wishing to learn new skills
- wanting to meet new people
- becoming involved in your community
- thinking about taking up or changing jobs
Discover What's On
There are learning activities happening across the city, provided at different times and in community venues. All are accessible for people with disabilities, in some there is specialist learning equipment and childrecare is usually available. Most of the learning activities provided are free and where there is a cost the Adult Education Support Fund Grant can usually provide help for those who need it. No previous experience or qualifications are needed to take part and an Adult Learning Worker is available to help you decide what is best suited to you. We also consult with communities to find out what learning they would like to see provided. If you wish further information or have any ideas or suggestions please either email or get in touch:
