Broughty Ferry - Public Services and Resources
Apart from its historic centre Broughty Ferry remains a largely residential area in the 21st century and provides an expanding "dormitory" role for people working in the commercial and industrial heart of Dundee and environs. Thus public services are focused on supporting the domestic needs of local people. The area is served by a large secondary school and three primary schools. There is a public library situated on Queen Street , which provides a full range of modern information and informal learning services. Recreational and play facilities are available at a number of locations throughout the area including the Castle Green besides the harbour and at Dawson Park. Other public servcices such as Social work, Healthcare and Planning are delivered on a client needs basis. Generic services such as cleansing, open space management and roads maintenance are delivered at neighbourhood level as across the city. The area has its own high school in the Grove Academy with a choice of primary schools and pre school nurseries also available in the area.
