Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is for all young people, whatever their background or ability, between the ages of 14 and 25. It gives opportunities for personal achievement, adventure, community and social involvement and a widening of interests.
There are three awards:
- Bronze, for those over 14
- Silver, for those over 15
- and Gold for those over 16
To qualify for the award a young person must undertake an activity in each of the four sections - Service, Expeditions, Skills and Physical Recreation. At Gold level an additional Residential Project is required.
