Fintry - Soft Statistics and Funding Allocation

The census material of 2001 identified over 6,800 residents in the Fintry area. This number has risen due to the construction of new family housing in the north of Fintry. Although statistics aren't available since the census the Scottish Government implemented a new system of information gathering which focuses round the 6,500 data zones in Scotland.  Click on the image at the top right-hand corner to view a map of the area.

This comparative data is available to identify levels of deprivation and whilst the majority of Fintry doesn't come into the worst 15% of areas two distinct parts do.  The tenement area to the north of Fintry is in the worst 15% of areas, in addition to the south area of Fintryside and Finlaggan Terrace.  Both these communities have a large amount of tenement properties which experience a reasonably high turn over.

Environmental works in the north of Fintry has improved residents' feelings of safety and stability. Similar environmental works in the south were successful, however some properties missed out and Abertay Housing Association is seeking to complete this work soon. Due to accessibility to this data parts of Fintry have been included in the north east community regeneration funded cluster. This allows regeneration funding to be accessible for initiatives in the Fintry community.
