At the most recent census the Dalclaverhouse area had a population of 1,147although this will have grown with the expansion in the number of houses in the area. As a result of investigation into a new system of statistics to keep updated information following the census system, a new process was created by the Scottish Government. This identified 6,500 data zones that cover Scotland and provide comparative data. Mill O Mains and the Orchard Court data zones identified that the residents there were within the worst 15% of areas in Scotland, although Orchard Court appears to not fit into the typical statistics seen in an area of deprivation. However this allows both Mill O Mains and the Orchard Court area of Dalclaverhouse to be eligible for Community Regeneration Funding as part of the north east cluster (which includes Fintry and Whitfield).
