Dundee Musicians' Award
The Dundee Musicians' Award is a new scheme launched by Dundee City Council's Leisure and Communities Department to support the professional development of Dundee-based musicians.
The scheme is open to professional musicians working in any genre: contemporary rock/pop, electronic, classical, traditional or choral, and will support professional development activity, research and creation of new work. Awards will be made up to a maximum of £1,000.
Applicants may be of any age and at any stage of their career, but must be outwith full time education.
Priority will be given to proposals which will lead to enhanced performance and creative skills. Examples of activities may be:
- short-term or one-off training courses
- workshops
- conference fees
- master-classes
- mentoring
- other experienced which lead to improved professional skills
- travel to see work
- working and recording with new partners or producers
- establishing contacts and partnerships
- exploring opportunities for future projects
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 5 November, 2008.
