Arthurstone Community Library
Arthurstone Community Library offers an up-to-date range of services in a traditional setting. Services include a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles for all
ages and interests in a variety of media, newspapers, magazines, a request service, and a quiet study area.
Our friendly and capable staff are always on hand to help with queries.
The Reading Group meets once a month, on the second last Tuesday, when we discuss our latest read over coffee and biscuits
(we often digress but it's always fun).
Our reading list covers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction title and we also enjoy an annual trip to
the Edinburgh Book Festival.
Children's activities in the library include help with homework and projects, holiday activities and the summer reading scheme.
Colouring sheets and games are always available. The after school craft and activity club runs every Tuesday during term time.
For babies we have a regular Bookstart Baby Rhymetime on Friday mornings from 10.00 am - 11.30 am.
This provides a chance for babies to bring their mums or carers along for singing, rhyming and listening to stories. It also gives mum a chance to socialise. We also have a good selection of board books and babies can take part in the Bookstart Book Crawl and collect the range of colourful posters.
In the Learning Centre you can have free access to the internet, send and receive emails, use the scanner, pay bills, book travel
and hotels, write letters and create your CV.
The Learning centre provides a place to practice for courses such as ECDL. We also offer taster sessions to get you started.
These must be booked in advance.
We also offer a free phone/fax to council department, a fax service and a photocopying facility. You can arrange a special collection or collect dog foul bags.
