Books We Have Reviewed

Pi is a 16-year-old boy who finds himself cast adrift in a lifeboat on the ocean with a zoo tiger whom he calls Richard Parker, after one of his school friends. Through this strange relationship Martel explores the nature of reality in an unpredictable and hugely entertaining way, at first confusing but then riveting as each page reveals this clever and unusual story. The "Life of Pi" won the Booker Prize in 2002 and is still one of the best reads in the library.

Some readers do not get past the confusing beginning but when you do you can't put it down
