Winding up of the affairs of the deceased can be complicated and you might need to consult a solicitor to get appropriate legal advice. The Scottish Government publication 'What to do after a death' also gives useful information on 'Possessions, Property and Children'.
Other organisations which you may need to inform about the deceased are:
- Banks and Building Societies
- Employer
- Inland Revenue
- Housing Office or Letting Agent
- Council Tax office
- Benefits Agency
- Library
- Clubs and Associations
- Your local health practitioner
- DVLA
- Passport Agency
- Department of Work and Pensions
- Utility companies
