Things To Do and Activities
Things to do
Although we're battling with finances we still need time to enjoy ourselves and pursue interests and hobbies. There is much to do within the local area that shouldn't be forgotten about. The next few web pages provide various ideas, and remember to look carefully in case of any special offers!
Your local library has an extensive range of materials, much of which can be borrowed free or for a small fee. You can also log on and get free computing in the Library - and many have a free Wi-Fi service. Computer 'Taster' sessions are free. Ask staff for details.
Other events in the library include Storytimes for the under 5's, crafts and colouring sheets. Adults can borrow DVDs, books and CDs. If you'd like a challenge why not try and find out more about your family history.
Parks, Walking, Cycling and Gardening
If you want to take advantage of the open spaces in the area you could visit the various parks or try one of the healthy walks. If you want to plan a route anywhere in the city, Dundee Travel Info contains a new Dundee walk planner. So instead of getting the bus or taking the car why not have a walk, plan the route on the new site and see how far you've to travel. Just think of all those calories you could burn!
For a different experience get 'on your bike' and try out one of the cycle routes in the area.
If you want some tips on gardening, the Duntrune Demonstration Garden could provide you with just what you're after. Or to find out what's on in the local area take a look at the web page. Other leisure activities can be found in the next links.
Activities
