If you need help with finances then look through the following web pages. Also, contact the council and housing benefits section if you're not already claiming and look through the life event dealing with the credit crunch, debt, benefits and money.
Check out the Citizens Advice pages as they deal with Benefits for People who are Sick or Disabled. Another organisation providing advice is Shelter Scotland. They deal with Financial Support for Disabled People and Financial Issues for Carers
Remember that people with disabilities may qualify for VAT exemption or reduction. Please check with Revenue and Customs for details about buildings, adaptions or installations or other possible VAT reliefs.
