Last chance for parking consultation
RESIDENTS of Dundee’s West End who want to express their views about a proposed parking scheme have less than a week to get their comments in.
An area roughly west of Marketgait, east of Richmond Court and south of Blackness Road has been identified by Dundee City Council to take part in the consultation.
Around 7000 homes and business were sent a letter containing details of the proposed scheme, which includes the introduction of a residents’ permit at an annual cost of £80, which would allow it to run on a cost neutral basis.
Public meetings and a discussion with West End Community Council have also taken place.
Will Dawson, convener of the city development committee said: “Going out to consultation on this issue to gauge the true feelings of residents was the right thing to do.
“When the exercise closes on Friday (December 21) all of the responses will be analysed and a report brought back to the city development committee with the results.”
So far around 580 comments on the proposed scheme have been received via Dundee City Council’s website, letter and email.
A questionnaire and maps showing the boundaries of the proposed scheme are on the Dundee City Council website and responses to the consultation by post or email using the form at www.dundeecity.gov.uk should be sent to the council by Friday December 21.
