Fraud Spotlight
People in Dundee are being urged to report benefit fraud as the city council launches a renewed campaign to tackle it.
Posters and leaflets are being distributed throughout the city to highlight how the public can help beat the fraudsters.
Senior councillor with responsibility for finance, Joe Morrow, said: "Benefit fraud is a serious matter that affects us all because at the end of the day the money that is being illegally claimed for is being drained from other services.
"It is something that this council takes seriously and that is why we have put measures in place to help stamp it out.
"We have made it as easy as possible for people to let our counter fraud team know of anyone who may be defrauding benefit and this renewed campaign will draw attention to the various ways that fraud can be reported."
Confidential forms at www.dundeecity.gov.uk/fraud and a free hotline on 08000 852289 to which information can be passed 24 hours a day are among the ways that fraud can be reported to the city council. Callers can also phone 01382 431253 or visit the inquiry office at 6/7 City Square.
