Great Start to the Day
More Dundee primary pupils are being helped to get the best start to the day thanks to additional breakfast clubs that have been set up by Dundee City Council.
Ten new clubs are building on the network that has already been established across the city.
City council education convener Cllr Laurie Bidwell visited a club that is providing breakfast for pupils attending Our Lady's and Rosebank primaries.
Cllr Bidwell said: "City council breakfast clubs provide a great deal of support for pupils and we were keen to identify new areas where this assistance will be of most benefit.
"A healthy nutritional breakfast has an extremely positive impact on learning throughout the school day and I am delighted that the council has been able to extend the network of these clubs.
"We are working very hard to continually improve education in Dundee and these breakfast clubs have an important contribution to make."
The new clubs are for Claypotts Castle, Dens Road, Fintry, Glebelands, Lochee, Longhaugh/St Luke's & St Matthew's, Mill of Mains, Newfields, Our Lady's/Rosebank and Rowantree.
