Little and Lost
YOUNG artists from all over Dundee gathered at the Overgate Centre on Friday to celebrate their success.
More than 10,000 entries poured in for the Little and Lost colouring competition, run by DUNCAN (Dundee Co-ordinated Anti Crime Network) and many of the prize winners were on hand to collect their awards.
Prizes included Overgate vouchers, 10 family passes to Blair Drummond Safari Park, wristband offer from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, passes for the Factory Skatepark, two family passes for both Verdant Works and Discovery Point and two free tickets to the Odeon cinema. DUNCAN members including the Disney Store, Jane Norman and Republic also donated prizes.
Duncan and Daisy, the campaign's dragon mascots, added to the festivities handing out stickers, balloons and badges. The Wave 102 roadshow provided the soundtrack and fire fighters from Tayside Fire and Rescue Service showed visitors around a fire engine.
DUNCAN coordinator, Morag Douglas said: "Under all the fun and activities we are keen to make sure that children, parents and retailers get the serious message that the Little and Lost scheme is operating in Dundee.
"One of the most worrying aspects of shopping with young children is that they get lost and DUNCAN's Little and Lost scheme has joined up with the nationally recognised Child Safe Scheme to make Dundee even safer for kids."
The scheme aims to reunite lost children with their parents/carers with the minimum amount of fuss. Parents who need help should look for window stickers displayed in many retailers and ring the number shown, 08700 62 19 15.
In addition parents can hook their kids up with a free wristband carrying their phone contact details from reception, City House, Overgate Centre.
