PEOPLE living in areas of the city where prostitutes work are being invited to share their views and concerns at a series of drop in meetings.

Organised by Vice Versa, the sessions will give local people a chance to talk about the issues surrounding prostitution that directly affect them with project workers, the police and community representatives.

Backed by the Scottish Government and Dundee Community Safety Partnership, Vice Versa was set up earlier this year to help tackle on street prostitution in Dundee.

Allana Ellis, co-ordinator of the partnership responsible for reducing street prostitution in Dundee said: "We are committed to designing a service that responds to the needs of the women involved.

"But the project also recognises the importance of working with the community to ensure that people feel safe and their quality of life is improved.

"That is why Vice Versa and our partner agencies have set up this series of events so that we can listen to people's comments and concerns and work with them to address these."

Each of the sessions, which start on Thursday (JULY 9), will be held at the Boomerang Volunteer Project, 1 Pitkerro Road.

Most will last two hours from 3pm, but a special evening session has been set up for Thursday September 10 between 5pm and 7pm.

Sessions take place on Thursday (July 9) and on Thursdays July 30, August 20, September 10 (from 5pm to 7pm), October 1 and October 22.
