Rowantree Primary Prefects
Rowantree Primary has appointed its first prefects as part of its ongoing efforts to encourage children to feel pride in their school.
Thirteen representatives from P7 have been given special badges and will act as role models to pupils throughout the school.
They were chosen because of a mix of abilities including school work, achievement in sport and enthusiasm for helping.
Rowantree Primary's building was officially opened last year and the school was formed in 2007.
The idea for prefects is part of ongoing work to strengthen the school community and will continue in the next academic year.
Dundee City Council education convener Cllr Liz Fordyce visited the school to talk to the prefect pupils.
She said: "It is inspiring to see these pupils taking on these responsibilities and I am sure they will enjoy their time as prefects.
"Rowantree is still a relatively new school and there is a lot of work ongoing to establish its values for the future."
