The Dundee Directory gives no obvious clues to its history or purpose; why a relatively shabby house was left to stand among the proud buildings around it is unknown.
The one possibility is the Dundee Aerated Water Manufcaturing Company, manager Henry Blackwood, based at No. 21 Magdalen Yard Road.
