Nethergate, Dundee (south side)

This photograph shows a section of the south-western end of Dundee's Nethergate.

No. 126 was G. S. Nicol, ladies' tailor, whose window advertisements list cycling gowns, golfing coats and skirts, and visiting gowns. No. 128 was Miss Carrie Souter, who styled herself 'modiste' (fashion-setter) and called her shop 'Maison nouvelle'.

Beyond Sea Wynd at No. 128a were Davidson & Gray the chemists, Johnston & Co the musicsellers were at No. 130, and Richard Morrison the antiquarian at No. 130b. The latter died in 1915; an obituary was printed in the Dundee Year Book.
