Nethergate, Dundee - Ref: WC0416
The north-west section of Dundee's Nethergate is seen in this photograph, looking eastwards, with the top of the Old Steeple visible just to the right of centre, and Long Wynd at the lefthand side.
The shop in the foreground is W. P. Laird & Sinclair, with Macdonald and Muir, cabinetmakers, upholsterers, removal contractors, funeral undertakers and house-agents at Nos. 69-71. Frasers Embroidery Establishment belonged to 'Misses Fraser.'
Described in the Dundee Directory as 'designers and embroiderers', they lived nearby at No. 30 South Tay Street. Pullar & Sons, whose dye works were in Perth, were at No. 47 Nethergate.
