The northern side of Dundee's Nethergate is shown in this photograph, with its junction to Lindsay Street at the extreme right (and east). The photograph can be dated to c.1903 by reference to the businesses shown.
Sinclair & Ewing, the Ironmongery Warehouse at No. 35, are listed in the Dundee Directory as 'plumbers, gasfitters, & tnismiths', while their advertisement makes special mention of 'wedding presents'.
Edward Wilson & Sons are listed at No. 29 as part of Porteous Brothers and 'cabinetmakers, upholsterers, carpet warehousemen, decorators, removal contractors, houseagents and valuators'. Their avertisement also refers to yacht furnishing.
