No. 47 was Mrs Dobson, a 'fancy goods merchant, basketmaker, cooper). There's a rocking horse in her display. Mary Stewart, nextdoor at No. 45, was a fruiterer. James Gray, the 'practical watch and clock maker' was at No. 43.
David McLeod, The Standard Boot and Shoe Store, is listed in the Dundee Directory at No. 41. There is no listing at all for William Gellatly, a chimney sweeper and soot merchant in any directory.
