Reform Street, Dundee

This photograph from the Alexander Wilson Collection shows Reform Street, Dundee, just south of the junction with Bank Street, looking southwards towards the Town House.

No. 34 was the Bank of Scotland, agent Fulton Spiers (who lived at Tay Park, Perth oad), assistant agent John McGregor (who lived at Scotswood Villa, Carnoustie). The original bank of 1840 was remodelled in 1880 by George Shaw Aitken.

James Spence is listed at Nos. 28 and 32, as general warehousemen. Surviving sales catalogues mention clothing, furnishings, carpets, beds, etc. No. 30 contained various solicitors' and architects' offices, and the studio of photographer, Alexander Watt.
