"Scotia" in Dundee Harbour - Ref: WC0904
The Piper O' Dundee of 25th April 1894 has a short piece on a Half-Holiday river trip aboard the 'new steamer' ... belonging to the Dundee Pleasure Boat Company Limited to Newburgh, which seems to have been a popular destination for Dundonians.
'The Company have built the steamer specially for passenger traffic, and in every detail the comfort of patrons has been carefully studied. Refreshments will be provided on board.'
The article also records that the "Scotia" made 'a good trip from Newburgh to Dundee ... in three quarters of an hour'. Fares for the trip were 9d (4p) from Dundee, 1s (10p) from Broughty Ferry, the regular terminus of the trip.
