Transport - Cab stance at City Churches

The north side of the Nethergate in Dundee is the focus of this Alexander Wilson photograph, which shows a cab stance (or taxi rank, as we might call it today) at the north end of Union Street.

The Old Steeple stands at the west end of the City Churches (three in one building - the Steeple, the South (which houses the Mary Slessor Centre 'for mssion and care' nowadays) and the East).

Dundee Central Library's Lamb Collection (Boxes 233 and 57) contain documents and newspaper cuttings about cabs and cabmen in the city, including the byelaws from 1883.
