Public Safety and Dangerous Buildings
Where it appears to the council that any building or structure is dangerous to the extent that the safety of the public is at risk, powers exist which enable the council to take action to render a building safe or have it removed.
In Dundee it is the responsibility of the Senior Building Standards Surveyor to implement such action. A 24-hour, seven-day week service, for such emergencies, is operated by the Planning Division.
