Engineering Services (Statutory)
The City Engineer is responsible to the Council for fulfilling a number of statutory functions associated with various items of legislation including:
- Public Safety for Dangerous Buildings
- Flooding
- Coastal Protection
- Reservoirs
In order to ensure that these functions are properly discharged, the City Engineer has delegated responsibility to appropriate teams within the Division. The primary responsibility of each of these functions is to ensure that the safety of the general public is maintained and the interests of the Council are protected.
