Report For Week Commencing Monday 31 August 2015

Euclid Street/Euclid Crescent

closed westbound for 5 months with full closures for short durations (up to 48 hours) for major refurbishment works to D C Thomson building.

South Victoria Dock Road (west of West Victoria Dock Road)

closed for 4 weeks for drainage and associated Central Waterfront Works.

Thomson Street (Magdalen Yard Road for 100m north)

closed for 10 weeks for demolition and building works.

Old Glamis Road (Clepington Road to Fairmuir Road)

closed northbound for one week for footway works.

Summerfield Avenue

temporary traffic lights for one week for service connections.

South Road at Yeamans Lane

temporary traffic lights for one week for gas main renewal.

Dock Street (Commercial Street to Castle Street)

lane restrictions with priority traffic control system for one week for BT duct installation.

Riverside Drive (at sports field)

off-peak temporary traffic lights for 2 weeks for pedestrian crossing installation.

Milnbank Road (Rosefield Street to Polepark Road)

closed from Monday 31 August for 5 days for carriageway patching and Hydro Electric service connection.

Trades Lane

closed from Monday 31 August for 7 working days for carriageway resurfacing.

Drumgeith Road (near Forties Road)

Off-peak temporary traffic lights from Monday 31 August for five days for drainage cleaning works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
