Report For Monday 22 December 2014 - 5 January 2015

Euclid Street/Euclid Crescent

closed westbound for 3 months with full closures for short durations (up to 48 hours) for major refurbishment works to D C Thomson building.

Craigmore Street (Dunmore Street to Beauly Avenue)

closed until mid week for gas main replacement works.

Hebrides Drive at Eriskay Drive

temporary traffic lights for 4 weeks for drainage works (lights off over Christmas period).

A90 Perth Road (approach to Swallow roundabout)

eastbound overnight (7.30pm - 6.30am) nearside lane closure on Tuesday 23 December for gully repairs.

Strathern Road (Victoria Road to Grove Road)

closed until Wednesday 24 December for carriageway remedial works.

Strathern Road (from Grove Road to Caenlochan Road)

off-peak temporary traffic lights from Monday 29 December to Wednesday 31 December for BT repair work.

Forthcoming Major Roadworks

Strathern Road (Grove Road to Ellieslea Road)

closed from Monday 5 January for up to one week for carriageway remedial works.

Claypotts Road/Queen Street

off-peak temporary traffic lights on Friday 9 January for Scottish Water manhole repair.

High Street/Nethergate (Crichton Street to East side of Whitehall Street and Crichton Street (High Street to underground car park)

closed from 9.30pm on Saturday 10 January to 7.00am on Monday 12 January 2015 for crane lifting works.  This work is weather dependent and will be deferred to the following weekend if necessary.

Claypotts Road (junction with Arbroath Road)

various prohibitions of turns from Monday 12 January 2015 for 4 weeks for traffic signal upgrading and maintenance works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
