Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing, water mains renewal, electricity/gas supply work, sewer maintenance etc etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works. However we have a duty to inform the public of any situation which may arise - planned or otherwise - that may affect their ability to move about the city. We have included here a listing of road closures/restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utilities in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

A92 Tay Road Bridge	southbound lane closure and 30mph speed limit; full closure (1.00 am - 3.00 am) on Wednesday and Friday mornings for bearing replacements.
Dock Street (Whitehall Crescent to Commercial Street)	closed eastbound, Dock Street (Gellatly Street to Commercial Street) closed westbound, Gellatly Street closed southbound and 20mph speed limit for 7 months for rail tunnel strengthening works.
Riverside Roundabout/South Marketgait	eastbound lane closures approaching the roundabout from Yeaman Shore junction to Tay Road Bridge on-ramp for 9 weeks for rail tunnel strengthening.
Park Avenue	footway restrictions for 8 weeks for environmental improvements.
Albert Square	lane narrowing for 8 months for museum and environmental improvements.
Honeygreen Road and Afton Place	closed from Fountainbleau Drive to south leg of Afton Place for 26 weeks for road works.
B978 Kellas Road (Poplar Drive to B961 Drumsturdy Road)	temporary traffic lights for service connections.
Camphill Road (Broughty Ferry, Abertay Street to Campfield Road)	closed for 4 weeks for carriageway and footway reconstruction.
Session Street	closed for 15 months for building works.
Lower Broughty Ferry Road at Dundee Road West junction (Dairy Bridge)	closed for 15 weeks for Bridge and footway works.
Strathmartine Road (at Gillburn Road)	temporary traffic lights for up to one week for gas main replacement.
Balunie Drive (Douglas Road to Ballindean Road)	closed for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing works.
Drummond Street (Albany Terrace to Adelaide Place)	closed Monday to Friday for footway works.
Macalpine Road at Americanmuir Road	temporary traffic lights for one week for reinstatement of pedestrian crossing.
Balerno Place	closed for 12 months for building works.
Victoria Road at Hilltown	northbound lane closure, Tuesday and Wednesday, for Scottish Water leaking valve repair.
A92 East Dock Street	eastbound off peak (0930-1530) lane closure on Wednesday and Thursday for patching works.
A972 Kingsway East (Milton of Craigie Road to Pitkerro Road)	westbound off peak (0930-1530) lane closure on Friday for patching works.
Berwick Drive	traffic control up to 3 weeks for footway works.
Reform Street (High Street to Bank Street)	closed on Saturday 2 June for a charity event.
