REMEMBER TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOUR

With the prospect of more bad weather, Dundee City Council social work convener Councillor Jim Barries reiterating his call for people in the city to look out for elderly and vulnerable people.

He said: "The social work department continued to provide a meals service to 1000 people a day during the recent spell of bad weather.

"However, it is during exceptional weather that it is even more important for people to pop in to an elderly neighbour or someone who is housebound to check that they are OK.

"There could be extreme conditions which mean that many older people will not be able to get out and about so I am sure that a visit from a neighbour would be appreciated.

"I am particularly concerned in case there are elderly or disabled people who normally do not need help and are unknown to social work, but could do with some assistance during periods of severe weather.

"If you know someone who needs help please phone the social work department's first contact team on 434019".
