We provide social care for a wide variety of needs and people in different situations, in some cases directly and in others through services provided by the voluntary or private sector. Services can include helping people to live independently in their own home, helping with day care, if necessary, or providing adaptations to help with daily living.
Most people will want to stay at home wherever practicable. Sometimes, however, they may need residential care for short periods or for a longer term. Social Work can also arrange nursing home care, if necessary. In this case, an assessment of the person's needs will be carried out jointly with the health service.
Our aim is to have a range of services that give users a greater say in how we can best meet their needs.
