Dundee Social Work Service Wins National Award
Dundee City Council, Social Work Department collected an award in June 2008 in recognition of its success in retaining staff. The Care Accolades award was presented at an event in the five star Hilton Glasgow Hotel . The annual Care Accolades event recognises best practice throughout the social service sector and is organised by the Scottish Social Services Council.
Social work and health convener Councillor Helen Wright joined the department's winning team at the Glasgow event and congratulated staff on their achievement in winning the award.
She said " I am delighted that the department has won this Care Accolades award. This is a great achievement for all the individuals who have contributed to helping the department develop and retain its staff. Their hard work and dedication makes a real difference to the services we provide to people in Dundee."
The 2008 Care Accolades were sponsored by the Association of Directors of Social Work, the Joint Improvement Team, UNISON Scotland, the City of Glasgow Council, Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services, the Scottish Qualifications Authority and the Scottish Government.
