Care Accolades 2009
Video Interaction Guidance Team wins best innovative training award.
Social work staff collected a prestigious award for their innovative work in training at the 2009 Care Accolades Awards held in the Caird Hall, Dundee in June 2009.
The staff were presented with the award for the best innovative training programme for its use of Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) training by TV personality Kaye Adams.
Video Interactive Guidance aims to improve communication and relationships for service users. Participants' normal interactions are recorded in their home, school, or workplace. These are taken away, analysed and then two or three short clips are brought back and watched and discussed with members of staff. Successful interactions are highlighted and used to improve relationships.
The Care Accolades, which have been awarded annually since 2004, are organised by the Scottish Social Services Council in partnership with the Scottish Government. Care Accolades recognises, promotes and celebrates the outstanding initiatives and projects in social services across Scotland.
