Dundee and Angus Structure Plan

The Dundee and Angus Structure Plan was approved and became operative in October 2002.

The Structure Plan sets out the strategic land use planning framework for Dundee and Angus over the period 2001 – 2016. The Plan provides a long term vision for the area and sets out the broad land use planning strategy guiding development and change. The Structure Plan also sets the context for Local Plans, which translate the strategy in more detail. The Plan also provides a significant contribution through land use matters to the broader community planning process and to Local Agenda 21 in working towards sustainable development.

The Structure Plan documents comprise the following:

The documents are available for reference at Public Libraries throughout Dundee.

Key Diagram

The Key Diagram provides a diagrammatic representation of key policies of the Dundee and Angus Structure Plan indicating their applicability to different parts of the Plan area.

Report of Survey

The Report of Survey of the Dundee and Angus Structure Plan supports the Written Statement by presenting information which forms the basis from which the development strategy, policies and proposals of the Structure Plan have been developed.

Review of Structure Plan

The Structure Plan is to be reviewed and replaced by a Strategic Development Plan covering the areas of Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross and North Fife.  The review commenced in 2009 and is being undertaken by the TAYplan Strategic Development Plan Authority.
