Following recent enquiries from members of the public, Dundee City Council and Dundee City Registrar are pleased to launch 2 new types of civil ceremony within Dundee Registration District. The new ceremonies are being offered for renewal of marriage or civil partnership vows and naming ceremonies for children.

The naming ceremony for children is a non religious ceremony that will allow parents to formally give their baby or child it’s forenames, before family and friends and is also an opportunity to publicly pledge their commitment to raising the child in accordance with specific values.

Child Naming Ceremonies may be held at any location or venue within Dundee Registration District, so long as the primary purpose of the venue is not religious (e.g. a church).  There is no requirement to apply for a Period or Temporary Approval for a Renewal of Vows Ceremony.

Fees

The fees for a Child Naming ceremony in Dundee are:

• Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 at 89 Commercial Street — £124
• Monday to Friday 18:00 - 08:00 at 89 Commercial Street — £263
• Saturdays at 89 Commercial Street — £271
• Sundays at 89 Commercial Street — £302
• Public Holidays at 89 Commercial Street — £337
• Saturday at Tay Room — £397
• Saturday at Discovery Room — £349

Child Naming ceremonies outwith Registration Premises:

• Monday — Friday 09:00 - 17:00 - £206
• Monday — Friday 18:00 - 08:00 - £263
• Saturdays - £271
• Sundays - £302
• Public Holidays - £337
