Fife Council Archives

We look after documents covering the last 500 years of Fife history including the Minute books of Fife Council and records of other official bodies that have been dealing with county-wide issues since 1709. All sorts of different people appear in the records, including school teachers and pupils, coal miners and even witches!

Fife Council Libraries

Information about all Fife's libraries - East, West and Central areas. Libraries support the cultural, leisure, information and learning needs of the community.

Fisheries Research Services (FRS) Freshwater Laboratory

Provides expert scientific and technical advice on marine and freshwater fisheries, aquaculture, and the protection of the acquatic environment and its wildlife. Supporting the policies and regulatory activities of Government with full and up to date knowledge.

Innerpeffray Library

This fascinating collection of books and archive material, housed in a handsome 18th century special purpose building, is of great significance as a unique fragment of Scotland's social and intellectual history.

Mills Observatory

Mills Observatory is the UK's only full time public observatory. The building, with its distinctive papier-mache dome, was opened in 1935. It houses a refracting telescope, a small planetarium and display areas.
