Blue Bin Paper Collections
Dundee City Council has offered approximately 55,000 households a separate kerbside collection for waste paper and cardboard with approximately 35,000 households opting for the blue wheeled bin and the remaining opting for a "loose" collection (or no collection at all). Regardless of the method employed, collections are carried out on a four weekly cycle.

Please note that cardboard can now be collected in your blue bin for recycling
The blue bins are collected and emptied at the kerbside into a compaction vehicle. The contents are then taken to a storage facility at Marchbanks, before being transported to a paper mill for processing. The paper and cardboard is pulped and de-inked prior to being manufactured into a variety of new paper products including:
- Newsprint
- Plasterboard liners
- Printing paper
- Packaging materials
