The Shore

The Shore is a lively venue run by the Dundee City Council Community Learning and Development Team situated in the heart of the city. Through listening to the needs and opinions of local people, it provides a wide range of activities aimed at meeting community interests.

Youth Work is an educational practice contributing to young people’s learning and social development. CLD Youth Work delivers learning opportunities and activities that allow young people to engage with Health and Well-Being, Employability and Diversionary programmes, improve attainment and to express their voice and demonstrate Social Commitment. Engagement with CLD Youth works contributes towards young people becoming Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors, Responsible Citizens and Successful Learners.

Some of the services offered in the building are:

  • TASTE: a vocational skills training programme for young people.  All trainees take part in an in-house placement at Tay ‘S’ Tay The Shore’s Community Café and Waterfront Gifts our gift shop.
    Opening hours normally Mon-Fri 10am to 2pm
  • LGBT: meets twice a week at The Shore (please put in link to LGBT}
  • DYC: meets regularly at The Shore  (link for DYC)
  • Friday Night drop-in at The Shore 12-18 year old (see Facebook or contact 01382 435435 for details)

The Shore has public access computers and  two meeting rooms which are available to let for booking details contact The Shore
